Ordinary in Brighton? Launch Event
Tuesday, 5 November 2013
The launch of the book Ordinary in Brighton: LGBT, Activisms and the City was on the 23rd November 2013 3-5 at the Friends Meeting House, Brighton.
We asked a few people to read the book and say a few words at the event. Watch the video by clicking here
This book reflects on learning from the stories, hopes and views entrusted to the Count Me In Too research project, and develops thinking, linking and extending the research literature whilst also seeking to honour the contributions of those who took part.
At the launch people who participated in the Count Me In Too research can pick up a free copy, recognising the many hours of work that LGBT people undertook with the Count Me In Too project.
We hope that you find (at least some of it!) interesting as it talks about place/times/work/issues that you were involved in, and includes lots of quotes from participants in the research. It is limited, it can't do everything, but it is the first of its kind!
The book is framed for academics and activists with interest in research and theories. You can read the publishers overview of the book here:http://www.ashgate.com/isbn/9781472412942. You can also buy the book from the Ashgate website.
Do you know of research that should be featured here? If you know of any recent LGBT research that you think might be of interest to Brighton & Hove's LGBT communities, please forward it to Count Me In Too at
. We can add information about the research to our news feed and let everyone who accesses Count Me In Too know about it!
